Learn-To-Swim (LTS)

All participants in the Learn-To-Swim levels are encouraged to swim twice a week.

Level 1 Mums/Dads and Bubs
Appropriate for children aged between 5 months and 2 years
An introduction to the fun of water and water safety. Games are played to encourage children to blow bubbles, submerge underwater and float.

Level 2 LTS
Appropriate for children who are still having difficulty:
1. Blowing bubbles
2. Putting face in the water
3. Floating 5-10 seconds front and back
4. Swimming 2m of freestyle or backstroke
5. Possess little or no survival skills (knowing what to do if falling into the water).

All of these skills are taught at this level.

Level 3 LTS
Appropriate for children who:
1. Can float for 5-10sec front and back
2. Can completely submerge under water without hesitating
3. Can swim or dog paddle to the side of the pool and climb out
4. Can blow bubbles form nose and mouth
5. Beginning to swim uni-lateral freestyle

The goal of this level is to learn the fundamentals of uni-lateral freestyle and backstroke.

Level 4 LTS
Appropriate for children who:
1. Can float 5-10sec front and back
2. Can completely submerge underwater without hesitating
3. Can swim 10m of uni-lateral freestyle
4. Can swim backstroke with an aid.
5. Beginning to learn bi-lateral freestyle

The goal of this squad is to learn bi-lateral freestyle

Level 5 LTS
Appropriate for children who have the basics of bi-lateral freestyle and swim backstroke the emphasis is on stroke correction. The aim of this group is to prepare them for Seahorse and tadpole squads.

Aim of this level is to strengthen freestyle and backstroke and get ready squads

Mini-Squad
Is an extension of Level 5
1. A LTS lesson conducted in the 25m pool
2. lessons are 45min, ideal transition from LTS to squad

This level is an ideal way to increase strength and endurance to make the transition from LTS to squad.
